There are hundreds of articles written about the dos and don’ts of dating, we'll probably be able to come up with a book. But there is really no magic formula when it comes to it. One strategy may work for Aida but maybe not for Lorna or Fe. But there are universal principles and proper etiquette in handling your dates, dear single belles! We'll let you in on some tips.
Have you experienced dating a great guy but he suddenly disappeared in your radar after the first date? You may not be aware but you might be doing something wrong. This article will give you a checklist of things you might be doing to scare the guy away. Warning: Follow with caution

1. Arrive late. If he’s picking you up, make your date wait for at least an hour. Guys hate it when girls take so long to prepare for a date. Test his patience.

2. Wear heavy makeup and don a skimpy dress.  Throw your good hygiene habits (like taking a bath or brushing your teeth) out the window. You will wow your date with  heavy makeup and a  revealing fashion sense anyway. While you're at it, skip waxing or shaving your pits or legs as well. Outside appearance doesn’t matter. It’s the inside that counts.

3. Act manly. Show him your manly skills like chewing your food with sounds, burping out loud or removing food stuck in your teeth using your pinky. Guys like girls who are keeping it real.

4. Keep on texting or answering calls during your date. Act as if you’re not interested in what he’s saying.  Don’t ask questions and don’t listen.  Do check out cute guys who pass by your table (while your date is talking!).

5. Talk about how bad your day went. Complain how the service or food sucks. Drown the mood with negativity. Keep whining about your boss from hell or how much you dread your job.

6. Talk about your ex – either how great or bad he is. You can also rave about your best guy friend or other guy friends for that matter. Tell your date how you think he'll love them and that you can’t wait for them to meet.

7. Dominate the conversation and make a monologue about yourself. Hog the conversation and tell him about all your accomplishments and dreams. You want to make a good first impression, right? No need to find common interests. You still have a long list of great things he should know about you.

8. Reveal your darkest secret or your most embarrassing experience on your first date. Tell him everything if you can. Honesty is the best policy.

9. Tell the guy you’re so busy with life you don’t have time for love or relationships. Don't forget to emphasize that he’s lucky you were able to squeeze him into your crazy schedule.

10. Confess that you like him. Say it during the first date and he’ll surely run as fast as he can - away from you. Unless of course he’s crazy like you.

If you follow these tips, we’re absolutely sure you will not get a second date from that guy! Do you have other suggestions you can add to the list? We’d love to hear from you.
